Lyrics
Molecules
Ohhh, Fifty years ago
And for all I know
It may have been
Another life then
But I never let it go
Dreams, came and went and scattered
Hope, came and went in tatters
Still, I’d do it again
And again, and so:
We showed up every night
Always kept it tight
We were friends
To the end
All the world was bright
To laugh, goofing on each other
To bond, closer than a brother
And so, we did it again
And again. These are:
My molecules
A part of who
I’ve become and
Where I’m from
Why I do, what I do
I remember, all those moments
High adventure, with, a twinkle in my eye
Never slowly, always forward
In those care free, days – back - when
And I:
Played my first guitar
I drove my first car
Had a first date
A first heartbreak
A first time at the bar
At times, we found ourselves in trouble
But hey, we’d rise up from the rubble
And still, we’d do it again
And again, and so:
We earned us no degree
Just a way to be
We were friends
To the end
All the world could see
No, we didn’t seem to bother
Until, we hung with one another
And then, picked it up again
And again. These are:
My molecules
A part of who
I’ve become and
Where I’m from
Why I do, what I do
I remember, all those moments
High adventure, with, a twinkle in my eye
Never slowly, always forward
In those care free, days – back - when
Here we go!
And again
One more time
These are:
My molecules
A part of who
I’ve become and
Where I’m from
They’re my molecules
